Lawn Solutions

743 customers built from one phone, now on 26 routes

Printiss Worthy grew Lawn Solutions to 743 customers the way most owner-operators do, one contact at a time on his own phone. JAB turned that book into routes, visit notices and a phone line that greets his customers by name.

The work
A lawn program lives or dies on the calendar. With 743 properties, every round has to reach every yard, and the crew is outside all day while customers text and call.
What JAB did
JAB moved his customer book into JAB Ops, mapped every property, grouped them into 26 routes and set up a text to each customer two days before their visit.
What is true now
735 customers are greeted by name on his business line, 606 were scheduled for the first round, and the year is planned around seven rounds his crew can actually finish.

Where it started

Printiss built Lawn Solutions himself. His customers lived where most small service businesses keep them: in his phone, saved with a name and a street so he could find the yard. That works when one person carries the whole book in his head. It stops working when the book is 743 properties and the treatment program has to reach every one of them, round after round.

The crew is outside from morning to dark. Customer texts and calls arrive while everyone is working, and the next day's schedule gets built the night before.

What we built

First, the book. JAB moved every contact into JAB Ops and separated each customer's name from their street, so the system could greet people properly and put each yard on a map. The business line went from recognizing 95 customers by name to 735, and 685 properties gained a street address the routes could use.

Then the routes. Every property was mapped and grouped into 26 routes that keep the truck in one area for the day. The first round put 606 customers on the calendar between August 24 and September 29.

Then the notices. Two days before a visit, each customer gets a text with the date and a time window, and can reply to change it. Printiss sees the day on a truck screen and gets a short summary every weekday morning. In October he added a route planner: pick an area, tap Draw route, and get the driving order with a Call and a Go button for each stop.

The decision that set the year

With every yard mapped, the arithmetic was finally visible. One full pass over 743 properties is about 31 working days. Eight rounds for everyone would use 248 of roughly 250 working days in a year, leaving two days for rain and every aeration job.

Printiss chose seven rounds for every customer, with an eighth sold as an add-on and run as its own shorter route. That leaves about 33 days a year for aeration and weather, and the crew never drives a full route for a half-full day.

What is next

More of the day moves into the planner, one tool at a time, each built around how Printiss already runs his routes.
